Lessons available weekly, every other week or book in as and when suits you.
Leisure Play Lessons
Riffs Music Academy offers leisure play lessons as well as formal lessons, covering all styles of music without a grade or exam necessarily in mind. Admittedly you may not sound exactly like Slash or Eric Clapton immediately without learning at least some of the 'nuts and bolts' of music, but you can choose to play entirely for leisure, fun or relaxation.
Formal Grade Lessons
Riffs Music Academy offers qualifications/grades officially recognised and accredited by the QCA (Qualifications & Curriculum Authority) and DFES (Department for Education and Skills) both of which are official government bodies.
Riffs Music Academy is also an RGT/LCM public examination Centre.
Studio or Online Lessons
Riffs currently has studio lessons with 2m distancing in all the teaching studio’s or you can have online lessons and change between the studio or online as and when required.
Online Student/Parent Portal
Students get access to an online portal where they can view notes set by their tutor and log their practice time. Parents can monitor progress and request lesson rearangements.
Riffs Policies
All new students are entitled to a free half hour intro lesson without obligation. Students /parents get access to an online portal where they will be able to view notes, lessons and more. Lessons can be paid for by bacs, credit or debit card & standing orders. Invoices are emailed monthly. Lessons start on the hour or half past the hour, if you’re late arriving for your lesson, you will unfortunately only have whatever time remains of your lesson If, however your tutor is running late and you are on time your tutor will be required to teach you for the full time allocated for your lesson.Riffs is open ALL year round except for bank holidays and time over Christmas & Summer which you will be informed of the dates that we are closed at the time. Students may take a break from lessons at any time but we cannot guarantee the same day/time slot or tutor if you wish to return. If you cannot make your lesson you are required to give at least 24hrs notice and you can then rearrange to a new time/day. Cancellations on the day are chargeable at the full price of the lesson.
Rearrangements are welcome as long as space is available and 24hrs notice has been given. If a rearrangement cannot be made at the time you will be given a credit to use at another time. When tutors are on holiday or sick student’s lessons where possible will be covered by another tutor from within the Riffs organization.These policies have been put in place to ensure the smooth running of student’s lessons.
